    Hello,

I am coming out of lurk mode to ask for your help! I am conducting a
cost-benefit analysis of telelearning at the University of British
Columbia under the direction of Dr. Tony Bates. More information about
the study can be found at http://research.cstudies.ubc.ca/.

I am interested in your comments and opinions about what you feel are
the benefits and limitations of telelearning or distance education in
general. Some possibilities include increased access, flexability,
increased motivation. I am also very interested in your opinions of
possible indirct benefits of telelearning such as the effect on campus
planning (decreased traffic on campus, decreased need for new buildings
and classroom space - or different types of space), new business
opportunities, new markets. If you are aware of policy that may be
involved in such benfits/limitations that information would also be
helpful. (For example, UBC is trying to decrease on campus traffic and
parking by some % and will accomplish this by decreasing the # of
parking passes available, increasing the cost, trying to promote
carpooling). Any ideas you could provide would be most helpful. You
can e-mail me privately at bartolic@cstudies.ubc.ca if you prefer.

Thank you in advance for your help!!
