If you have gone through an acquisition, I would appreciate you filling out
the following survey. I am interested in how your company approached the
Human Resources and Organizational Development issues that I have listed
below. All responses will be kept confidential. My company is in the
process of addressing acquisitions and has asked that the Human Resources
    Department be ready.

Any input would be valuable into my research. Thank you. Cathy Engleman,
    HR
    Manager.

Survey of People having gone through an Acquisition (Please respond after
    each question).

    1. How did you prepare a smooth integration of employees during an

    3. What specific Human Resource issues need to be considered in determining
    the optimal form of integration?

    4. What would the priorities be of these HR issues?

    5. Describe the barriers that would need to be overcome during an
    acquisition?

    6. Do you believe the two companies should have a shared vision? If so,
    how
    and why?

    7. If you do not believe the two companies should have a shared vision, why
not? What would you desire instead of having a shared vision?

    8. Should the merging companies have the same values? If so, how and why?
    If not, why not?

    9. What were some of the successes of the integration that your company
    went
through - in terms of Human Resources and Organizational Development?

    10. What were some of the Human Resource pitfalls that your company
    experienced?

    11. What were the top 5 employee issues that your company had to address?

    Demographics:

    1. Were you with the acquiring or acquired company?
    2. What size of company did you acquire (in number of employees)?
    3. What size was your company (in terms of number of employees)?
    4. Were the two companies in similiar industries?
    5. Were the two companies in the same city or state?
    6. Or different cities or states?

Thank you in advance for your responses. Any insights that you would be
willing to share would be extremely valuable to my efforts to make our
    acquisition as smooth as possible.
