The Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL), a private
nonprofit corporation based in Austin, Texas, is dedicated to
challenging,
supporting, and enriching educational systems to ensure a quality
education
for all learners. SEDL conducts applied research, evaluation, and
policy
studies; develops cutting edge products; and delivers training and
technical assistance to educators and others in the Southwest.
TRAINING/TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ASSOCIATE: SEDL is seeking a
Training/Technical Assistance Associate in its Technology Assistance
Program (Two positions based in Austin). Assists educational entities
in
planning for acquisition and integration of technology into instruction;
develops and provides training and on-going technical assistance for
educators to support use of technologies appropriate for
student-centered,
problem-based, and/or inquiry learning environments; and disseminates
information regarding same via print and World Wide Web materials and
conference presentations.
Applicant should preferably hold a Masters degree; 3+ years of
experience
in field work with school staff, communities, or technical entities;
and/or
teaching experience at the elementary or secondary school level that
included incorporating technology into instruction and the use of
student-centered, problem-based, and/or inquiry approaches to
instruction.
Demonstrated skills in working effectively with school personnel at the
local, state, and university level; in planning and conducting training
and
technical assistance efforts. Skills in use of Macintosh or Windows PC,
word processing/database/spreadsheet software, and skills in development
of
World Wide Web pages and projects.
Salary $3,119/mo + excellent benefits package. Position closes NOVEMBER
