Hey get off your duff! Get working on your paper for the Academy of
Management's annual meeting in San Diego, August 9-12, 1998. As
the Program Chair for the Management Education and Development
Division I welcome any paper about management teaching-development
in university/college or corporate/not-for-profit contexts. However, ones
that are done to reflect the conference theme of "what matters" are
particularly welcome. One approach to framing such a paper might
be to consider the article:
Ronald K. Mitchell <
RMitchell@UVvm.UVic.CA>,
Bradley R. Agle <ethics+@Pitt.edu>,
and Donna J. Wood <
DJWood@vms.cis.Pitt.edu>
Toward a Theory of Stakeholder Identification and Salience:
Defining the Principle of Who and What Really Counts.
Academy of Management Review, 22, 4(October 1997):853-886.
Haven't received that issue yet. I recommend getting a
copy of this important article from them and using it to frame
what matters in teaching management in a college/university or
corporate setting. In any case, I think that the title of that paper
suggests a zillion--even a gadzillion approaches to YOUR paper.
For the detailed call for papers see

But remember--for management teaching and executive development
related papers--send them along to me (my address is in the call).
The deadline for getting them in is January 7, 1998.
