    CALL FOR PAPERS

    ICM'98, the Third International Conference on Management, will be held July
    25-28, 1998 in Shanghai, one of the largest cities in the world. Shanghai,
    like many other parts of China, enjoys the world's fastest growing economy.
    Shanghai is also a city which has world's tallest sky scraper. ICM'98 is
    sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC),
    organized by Department of Managem
    ent Science of NSFC and Shanghai Jiaotong University, and cosponsored by
    the EDI of World Bank, Praxair Corporation, SRI International and Hong Kong
    University of Science and Technology. ICM'98 will bring together
    researchers and practitioners around the
    world to present and discuss the latest research accomplishments and
    future research directions in management and management sciences. Special
    emphasis will be placed on the topics that will prepare the international
    business community to face the chall
    enges of the 21st century.

    A special session on Capital Flow and Macroeconomic Management and a special
    session on enterprise re-engineering will be jointly organized by
    Economic Development Institute of World Bank and Praxair respectively.


    Call for Contributed Papers/Proposals:

    The conference will be composed of plenary presentations, semi-plenary
    sessions, panel sessions, invited and contributed sessions, and other
    events. Prospective authors should submit 3 copies of their extended
    abstracts/proposals with a disk (2-3 typed p
    ages, using A4 paper and Word 6.0 or Word 7.0 for Windows or WordPerfect
    5.0, also the file must be saved as text file (*.txt)) by January 31, 1998.
    All abstracts/proposals must have a cover page containing the title, the
    names, affiliations, complete mai
    ling address and E-mail address of all authors, as well as a list of the
    topics in given order which are most
    closely related to the paper. All correspondence will be directed to the
    first author unless otherwise requested. The conference proceedings will
    be published in English before the conference. Both English and Chinese
    are the working languages of the co
    nference and simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

    Important Dates:

    January 31, 1998: Submission of extended abstract and/or proposals for
    workshops/tutorials/organized sessions

    February 28, 1998: Notification of paper/proposal acceptance

    April 30, 1998: Submission of full paper

    Registration fee entitles you to access to the conference sessions, get a
    copy of the ICM'98 Proceedings, have refreshments, a reception, three
