The problem, from my view point, is that there is no one best way for change
management. In other words BPR may not be appropriate to the situation.
Therefore the failure may be the consultant or manager picking the wrong
instrument. In some cases no matter what instrument is utilise the firm is
just to far gone and, like a plant applying water and fertiliser and even
TLC the plant will still die. This leads to the other probe I wanted to
answer and that was the marketing of consultants. The most successful
method is word of mouth, in other words if you are successful then the work
or leads will come.
