The Association for Experiential Education (AEE) is a not-for-profit
professional organization with roots in adventure education, committed
to the development, practice, and evaluation of experiential education
in all settings. AEE has more than 2,300 members in three dozen
countries.
The National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) is a nonprofit
membership association of educators and community leaders founded in
1971 and dedicated to "fostering effective use of experience as an
integral part of education, in order to empower learners and promote
the common good."
This pioneering joint regional conference is a first for both
organizations. By bringing the two organizations together, we will
be able to learn from each other's techniques and values. We will
"Unlock the Magic" of our mutual organizations and memberships.
Be apart of history in this exciting and high energy collaborative
effort!
The 1998 AEE/NSEE Conference is focusing on current professional
practices, methods, and research in the growing field of experiential
learning utilizing a variety of mediums. Presentation topics related
to administration, management, supervision, creative programming,
diverse populations, marketing, funding sources, research and
evaluation, hands-on activities, service learning and practitioner
skills are welcome. Particular attention will be given to those
presentations that address both NSEE and AEE memberships.
In an attempt to meet the growing needs specific to experiential
educators, AEE and NSEE are evolving into a more broad based
association, reaching out to and being inclusive of professionals in
related fields. The annual Northeast Regional Conference is an
opportunity for AEE and NSEE to serve the profession and
professionalsto engage in contributing and influencing the direction
of the industry. We welcome and invite all experiential educators
and professionals from related fields to submit a workshop proposal
and/or come and share in the fun, the networking, and the continuing
evolution of our industry!
