Please forgive multiple postings.

I am trying to compile a list of journals that publish business/management
case studies. Can you help me identify them? For example, I've found
reference to a J. of Management Case Studies, from 1990, but no current
info. Does it still exist?

Also, do you know of any user groups on the net that focus on case studies?

Responding to the list, in case there is general interest in the
inquiry about lists devoted to cases.
Some time ago, I was on a list called "Cases." The list was
managed by Bob Blomeyer at Ball State University. His address:

I have not visited this list since November 96. Hope this

The best one by far, if your aim is to use cases in class (and not have to
worry about copyright or royalties) is the Case Research Journal published
by NACRA, the North American Case Research Association. There are four
issues per year with about 8 cases per issue; each case comes under a
"major" category and several sub-categories or secondary areas. The first
page of each case bears the wording "Faculty members in nonprofit
institutions are encouraged to reproduce this case for distribution to
their own students without charge or written permission. ... "

There is also WACRA, World Association for Case Method Reserach & Case
Method Application. My contact may be out of date, but try Dr. Hans Klein
at hklein@bentley.edu.

It would indeed be useful to have a list of case journals, including
journals that publish one or two cases per issue or even occasionally
(noted as such). If you were able to put the list on a Web site and keep
it updated, its value would be substantially higher than a one-time
posting to this list...

New this year among case studies journals is "Case Studies: Revista
Brasileira de Management," published bimonthly by IBMEC and marketed by
Insight Engenharia de Comunicacao e Marketing Ltda, Rua 7 de Setembro,
71-14 andar, Centro, Rio de Janeiro RJ, CEP 200050-005, Brazil.
Annual subscription is R$90.00. Further info on subscriptions from fax
021 533 1809 or email wf-netbusiness@informe.com.br.

The September/October 1997 issue is vol. 1, no. 5, and contains four cases
on strategic management, five on administration and finance, and one on
marketing. The entire journal is in Portuguese.
