Thanks, Barb Golden, for your comments on advertising. I began my
participation on this list with a description of my course and book. I
did so with much trepidation because of the discussion norm which we all
want to have predominate. As a marketing channel, this list is,
however, extraordinary: free, instant communication with almost 800
people worldwide who are interested in a well-defined subject area.
Moreover, my book may not be publishable, because it is a horse of a
different color and because the number of textbook publishers is
shrinking, and each seems satisfied with its generic OB offering. The
internet could help people like me establish our own niches in this
market without publishing.
It is nice to know that there is some acceptance for limited efforts to
make a new product available in a small, dispersed market. I will try
not to abuse the privilege.
