I am developing some front-line supervision training for technical
personnel, and am looking for sources of case studies that I can LEGALLY
use in commercial, for-profit training. Anyone know of any sources?
Obviously, free ones (that I can tailor to my needs) are better than fee
ones, but I'd be willing to pay some amount for really outstanding and
relevant cases. Thanks for your time.

Many world-class business magazines have excellent articles
that provide well-researched case studies. You can locate
them by going to their websites and archives (sometimes
they call their archives libraries). Current articles might
even be more involving for the trainees. Try these sites:
    Economist: http://www.economist.com/
    Financial Times: http://www.ft.com/
    New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/
    Fortune: http://pathfinder.com/fortune/
    Electric Library: http://www.elibrary.com/
    Business Week: http://www.businessweek.com/index.html
When training in Europe I sometimes have students use the
European Quality Criteria to frame analyses of cases and companies:
    http://www.efqm.org:80/award.htm
Other regions and countries have similar awards with similar sites.
For some material, giving students the URLs for the material will
work and handle copyright issues. Other material that you
download and print-out might legally require payment of
    royalities.
