I would like to suggest that you don't forget the wisdom contained within
your organization. Why not make part of your management development class
identifying high performing managers within your company and interviewing
them to determine what they do that makes them such great managers?
This would allow you to create a model of great management within your
specific organizational culture. If you got each class member to ask five
respected friends to name five top performing managers within your company
and then merged their lists identifying the people who were most often
mentioned you would instantly have the list of people to be interviewed.
