There is still time left to send in your proposals to the 12th annual
MidAtlantic Regional OBTC to be held at LaSalle, in Philadelphia, March 28
and cosponsored by LaSalle, Drexel, Saint Joseph's and Temple
Universities. The MOBTC has a tradition of focusing on teaching and
learning, of informality and collegiality, of participation and
sharing, of new ideas and stimulating conversation.

This year's theme grew out of a comment, "It's not teaching that's
important, it's learning". So we thought about different ways of
"knowing" or "no-ing" about teaching. We hope to have a variety of
exciting sessions and workshops and invite you to propose a session
    and/or plan to attend.

The primary purpose of the presentations should be for classroom use.
Whenever possible, plan for the active involvement of participants.

Proposals should be no more than 2-5 pages long. State 1) what you will
do, 2) why it is important and what people will learn, 3) how you will do
it (e.g. extent of active involvement of participants), 4) if related to
the theme, how it does so, 5) how long you would prefer (30, 45, 60
minute sessions) and the minimum time needed (we may combine you session
    with similar proposals).

Please send (Joe Seltzer, Management Department, LaSalle University,
1900 W. Olney Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19141), fax (215-951-1271) or
    e-mail (seltzer@lasalle.edu) your proposals by January 20.

Registration is $45. Please make check payable to MOBTC and include
your name, first name for name tag, address, school, phone, e-mail. It
includes a welcoming reception on Friday evening and continental
breakfast, coffee breaks and lunch on Saturday, March 28.

For information or to discuss your proposal, contact Joe Seltzer at the
    above address or phone 215-951-1037.

    Hi Joe

This is just to alert you that you should be getting a proposal for your
conference from me. My daughter is making her Temple debut on stage that
weekend, so I will be at the play on Friday, I think, but will be able
to spend all day Saturday at the conference on your campus. I will not
be staying at the conference motel, though. On another note, we had an
    excellent meeting with Greg Bruceh
