Dear List,
Thank you, Pat. "True words spoken in jest?" If we can identify
what characteristics are NOT teamwork, we should surely be able to
better identify what IS teamwork, yes?
I have noticed that as teams develop and go through the various
stages of development...they tend to know what they need to work
on and improve. I shared with the list the 10 evaluation checks
that we conduct at the end of each week for all teams..i.e., but
we also use two other tools.
One tool is very easy to use and often overlooked for the value
that it offers. We simply put a sheet up on the wall, draw a line
down the center, write a plus sign over one collumn and a delta
over the other and ask the group...What has been working for our
team (what are we doing) and what needs improved upon. Teams are
very good at identifying those issues.
At other times, about once a quarter, we use another form that is
filled out in private and it asks four questions: 1. <What does
the team need to do more of, 2.< what does the team need to do
less of, 3.< what do we need to start doing, 4.< what do we need
to stop doing.
The data coming out of these tools are measurable in the minds of
the team...<THEY know what it means and since they listed it, they
>MUST value it.
>THanks,
