Diego, August 9-11, 1998. A fellow listmaster has written some advice
that I post to mg-ed-dv at his suggestion.

Dear Colleagues:
Many of you are probably beginning your planning to be at the Academy meetings
in San Diego this August (or will be once those positive reviews come back!).
I was down there last spring (a late-winter escape from Alaska), and prior to
my trip I stumbled across a great web source of apparently local information
regarding the place. It's called the Local Guy's guide to San Diego. The URL

The site has a lot of very useful information regarding adventuring in the
area, and I found the local guy's advice (he remains anonymous) to be extremely
reliable. He steered us to some great places that we would not have found
otherwise (and you won't find in Fodor's). I thought it was worth sharing.

might be interested.
