Rick,
As the Diversity Manual says, "we've got to stop agreeing like this."
I think the next goal is to create a plan for the business to grow from 50
to 150. The starting point, as you say, is a deep one-on-one with the
leading decision maker. Then the key is the creation of visionsss,
strategy, structure, process and plan with the five or so people who will
lead the projects. Then follow-up with discussion and reconciliation with
all 50 employees (which may engender some revisions). Finally, the plan
and the weekly progress goes on the public wall for all to see -- and enjoy
the feeling of success.
I have experienced this prescription with half a dozen companies in the 50
person regime. Those that did it went on to success. Two that tried to
shortcut it went down in flames.
