As a text I strongly recommend
George,C and Cole,K.(1992) Supervision In Action: The Art of
Managing.Prentice Hall.
I think there is a more recent version. I have used this in Industry
with excellent results.
In terms of course content The New Zealand Institute of Management
P.O. Box 67 Wellington, New Zealand, has developed an excellent
Supervisory Management programme which is taught by Industry and
Technical Institutes throughout New Zealand. Text books have been
written to support the programme.
