The following question is from a colleague of mine. Please post responses
to the List (I'll forward these to her) or respond directly to her at:

We are a relatively small, privately-held company interested in expanding
the role of our advisory board. The board would be composed of outside
professionals who are well-known in their areas of expertise. The board's
purpose would be to provide the company expert advise,
particularly in areas related to product development.
I would like to know how and how much other companies (with similar types
of outside advisory
boards) compensate their board members and what kind of time/work
commitments they ask for in return.
