Let me add my voice to those concerned about the sheer volume of
activity from this list. We, too, joined the list recently. We are not
academics but consultants who must serve clients, or else we can't eat.

To be sure, a small portion of what I've read has been worthwhile. But
too much of it strikes me as shameless self-promotion and/or high-level
chicken-choking, perhaps from people with too much time on their hands.
We value collegial relationships, but most of all, we value value.

The volume is great and often my delete finger is dumb, but I'd still
rather delete than censor. I'd also rather delete than split between DV
and ED. Most of the ED info I end up deleting 'cuz of my bent toward DV.
But I like the opportunity to be exposed to somethings I might never
otherwise consider. Just to be counted...
