Dear Thomas,
Ohio University has a Corporate MBA Program which is designed as a
strategic human resource intervention. We have only done it in Malaysia
(three year intervention at Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the Malaysian power
company) and we will be starting another site in Sarawak (half
government/half private sector). Also, the Times of India is going to have
us do some modules for them. We are now speaking to firms here in the US
and are hopeful that we will get our first US engagement in the Cleveland
area soon.
I can tell you that the experience is a win/win/win situation. Faculty
benefit greatly from the standpoint of their own professional development
and the psychic rewards are incredible. The firm benefits greatly because
of the project-oriented approach of the program. And the participants
benefit since the program really is a combination of executive development
and consultancy delivered in the context of an MBA program.
As for corporate MBA programs per se, the Corporate MBA Program can be
designed to deliver a firm the pieces upon which they could look to build
their own university. We look to transfer technology to our sponsoring
organizations as per their individual needs.
