    ********POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS*********

CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR, DIVISION OF DISTANCE LEARNING

The Association of Management/International Association of Management
(AoM/IAoM) announces vacancies for the positions of Chair and Co-Chair in
the newly established Distance Learning (DL) Division.

The positions of Division Chair and Co-Chair are leadership positions
require excellent management and communications skills and carry ample
opportunites for professional and personal growth. They offer the
incumbent the autonomy to shape the direction of the division, showcase
best practices in distance learning and become a member of a
multi-divisional team. The Division Chair, in cooperation with the
Co-Chair, controls the operation of his or her division in compliance with
the AoM/IAoM constitution, selects/appoints session chairs and reviewers
for the annual conferences and undertakes new initiatives to further the
growth of the division. The Division Chair also serves as editor of the DL
annual proceedings (unless the chair decides to delegate editorial
responsibilities to his or her co-chair or a member of the division). As a
member of the leadership team, the new chair of the DL division is
expected to play a significant role in one of the major AoM/IAoM
initiatives, Project 2001, which includes education, including distance
education, as one of four critical pillars. The AoM/IAoM recognizes the
contributions of division chairs and co-chairs through a progressive award
program ranging from recognition awards to monetary rewards.

The AoM/IAoM is a professional management association which is structured
along divisional lines. The divisions represent major areas of
specialization in the field of management including organizational, human
resources, educational, health care, and information management. In
addition, separate divisions exist for leadership, entrepreneurship,
computer science, policy analysis, distance learning, and research
methods. Existing international regions include Europe, Latin America,
and Asia/Pacific. The AoM/IAoM divisions are constantly and dynamically
evolving reflecting the need to respond to the changes, challenges, and
demands which face contemporary managers and their organizations.

The newly established DL Division currently consists of 10 tracks ranging
from theoretical frameworks for distance learning to asynchronous learning
networks. For a complete listing of the DL Division tracks, go to
www.aom-iaom.com/divisions and scroll to Distance Learning. The DL Chair
and Co-Chair must have a broad understanding of the current issues in
distance learning and training in broad areas such as technology and
instructional design. In addition, they must have the requisite
technological savvy and access to computer and internet resources as well
as institutional support to successfully promote the activities of the DL
    division.

Individuals interested in serving as the Chair or Co-Chair are invited to
submit their CV along with a statement of their research or applied
interests. Applicants are encouraged to attend this year's annual
conference to be held in Chicago, August 5-8 either as a presenter or
    attendee (www.aom-iaom.com/annual conference).

Thanks Leon but the message that Dutch posted refers to an organization that
I am not at all interested in called "the Association of Management". That
is very different from the Academy of Management which sponsors Mg-Ed-Dv and
is the premier scholarly management society. I have requested Dutch to
desist from reposting things to Mg-Ed-Dv.
    Cybercollegially,
