An increasing number of students enroll in educational programmes in Europe outside their native country. A reasonable response in order to facilitate their transition is to offer remedial education in distance learning format. Information Communication Technology (ICT) offers some powerful tools which might benefit life-long learning. Recently, ICT has gained the power to support independent learning as well as learning irrespective of time and geographical dispersion with the wide-spread implementation of Internet. In addition, ICT provides powerful tools for learning in collaborative settings where students work and learn together.
This conference should be regarded as an opportunity to present how ICT and E-learning can help European learners on their life-long learning paths, and to discuss your recent research findings with other scholars. We are looking for proposals within the following fields:
- Knowledge acquisition in e-learning and the role of social knowledge building in (distance) education
- Collaborative knowledge construction in education context and Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL)
