    Colleagues:

In Fall 1998 you can teach your Strategy/Policy Course with the rich
resources of the Internet - with online course materials, electronic
bulletin board, class e-mail, Web based quizzer, and over 1000 links to
relevant Strategy Web resources, Online Case Studies, projects, assignments,
through Socrates a unique online collaborative learning tool. This is a
great way to enhance your in-class instruction. Your students will become
Web Savvy on strategy issues, do online research, and gain valuable skills
in integrating the Internet/WWW into their strategic analysis.

The Strategy/Policy course content was collaboratively developed by many
contributors including Jo Ann Duffy (Sam Huston U), Paul Meising (SUNY),
Paul Shrivastava (Bucknell), Willem Vrakking (Erasmus U, Amsterdam), Charles
Wankel(St. John's U), and others. Other courses available this Fall for
similar Web enhanced delivery include Marketing and Environmental
Management. Next semester more courses (Managenemt, International
Businesss, and OB/OT) will be added. See the TENTATIVE list of materials at

http://www.esocrates.com/Outlines/SMModules.html (note: they will be in
    final form by July 31)

I taught the undergraduate Strategy/Policy course in this Web enhanced
manner at Bucknell University last semester. It went over extremely well,
as reflected in students course evaluations. Virtually every student
mentioned the Internet element of the course as a valuable feature, while a
lot of them glowed about it. Our students are typical 22 year old seniors
sitting here in centrally isolated rural Pennsylvania. A great ah-ha
experience of this course for students was the electronic Bulletin Board on
which we invited outside experts (from Singapore, and Australia) to post
comments on the Asian Currency crisis (which was occurring during the
semester) on our Bulletin Board. Interacting with remote experts on real
issues adds a valuable dimension to the course. The ah-ha experience for me
was the convenience of automatic grading with the Web Quizzer.

Try it now, because in the Fall 1998 semester Socrates is providing this
Internet learning environment free to Faculty who sign up by July 30, 1998.
Your own customized course is created within 2 hours. No software to
