Thanks to Dutch Driver for forwarding the peom "The Consultant". I
can recall reading the same poem, then unattributable, at least ten
years ago. My assumption at the time was that the origin was in the
US, but I have no reliable basis for that.
Having been an academic for the past twenty years or so, let me attach
a modified version of the poem which I have, with apologies to the
original author (wherever he/she may be), created. Hope it amuses
someone!
