    -------------------------------------------
Seattle is known as one of the most alluring and lively cities in the
United States. It is situated on the shores of two large lakes and
Puget Sound, and is almost completely surrounded by water. Beautiful
mountain ranges stretch to the east and west, with immense Mount
Rainier, the fifth highest peak in the lower 48 states, standing alone
and in full view. The San Juan Islands, major rivers, and the Pacific
Ocean beaches are also nearby. Within just an hour's drive of the city,
Mt. Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park, and Olympic
National Park provide a variety of terrain and climate, scenic hiking
trails, and remote, rugged wilderness. Its location also makes it a
convenient gateway to explore Alaska and western Canada.
Opportunities for hiking, cycling, golf, wildlife watching, sea
kayaking, sailing, fishing, and swimming abound!

A youthful, energetic and culturally diverse city invites you to explore
its scenic waterfront, lush parks and gardens, clean streets, and
graceful waterways. Known for its world-famous cuisine and
sidewalk espresso stands, Seattle is home to many
    interesting attractions.
