Hello all MED members
This e-mail is to encourage you to consider running for election to one of the
following positions if you are a member of the Management Education & Development
Division (MED) of the Academy of Management. The offices to be elected at our
August 2000 meeting are:
SECRETARY (two-year term): responsible for keeping a record of the
Division's Annual Business Meeting and any other duties or correspondence
as may be requested by the Division Chairperson.
MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR-ELECT: responsible for building and sustaining membership
through recruiting and coordinating a membership committee. The members of the
membership committee shall be chosen at the discretion of the Membership
Coordinator.
PRACTITIONER LIAISON-ELECT: responsible for promoting, encouraging, and
supporting liaisons with practitioners of management training, development,
and education with the goal of sharing their knowledge with the Division's
members and vice versa.
RESEARCH COORDINATOR-ELECT: responsible for promoting, encouraging, and
supporting research efforts consistent with the purposes and mission of the
Division and may select, in consultation with the Division Chairperson, a
committee to assist in fulfilling these responsibilities. The Research
Coordinator will also administer all awards as designated by the Executive
Committee.
AT-LARGE NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEMBER: The nominating committee is charged with
soliciting nominations for our elections from MED's membership.
Please note that the �Elect� positions involve a 2 year commitment, the first as
a mentee, and the second in the position, itself. Please send your name in to me

bferris@wnec.edu) or any member of our committee with a brief bio if you are
interested in any of these positions. Serving in an office is a great way to
promote our academic ideals and gain from extending our academic networks.
