Dear Sir or Madam:
We are graduate students of the Psychology Institute, Chinese Academy
of Sciences( CAS ). On last Sunday we were required to establish a
questionnaire to measure people's preparation for organization change of
CAS . The CAS , maybe the biggest research organization in the world
containing about 120 institutes and 800,000 employees ,will soon go
through significant organization change with the aim of producing better
efficiency. This change includes downsizing one third of the employees ,
the orientation transformation of the most institute from research to
high-tech-industries and emerge of some institutes, etc. As the first
step, the survey and assessment of the people's attitude about the change
is critical to form the suitable strategy of the following organization
innovation . The top leaders of the CAS asked our major professor Kan Shi
to conduct the first step. The total sample is 5000-8000. Now the problem
is that we have little experience about this . Though we have collected
some articles and books about organization reegineering and organization
development, these materials are not enough. So we sincerely wish you
could give us some information about the following questions:
First, the most programs on organization reengineering we know mainly
concern on business organization issues, but the CAS is a nonprofit
research organization. We are not very sure about which factors are most
important in our survey.
Second , could you offer other suggestions about our survey and our
questionnaires? And if you have some inventories and questionnaires about
the organization reengineering at hand , Would you please mail us at your
convenience?
Third, to carry out the program we need much more information and
support. Could you please recommend us some important works and experts in
this area.
We must complete the work in no more than 15 days, so would you please
contact with us as soon as possible?
