    Dear Listers,

I am currently writing up a research proposal and I propose to conduct a
survey/interview using electronic mail or through established electronic
discussion group(s). I can see some advantages and shortfalls of using this
    process.

Has anyone used this process in his/her research before? Will it contribute
any problems in terms of validity and reliability?

I would love to hear from anyone who has experience in this area.

Thank you in advance for your contribution.

    Patrick Fong

    Patrick,
I haven't had any experience but strangely enough am considering following your
path in a year or so's time. Could we talk privately about how you are going
about it and any thoughts you have either now or in the future about progress
    and results?

    Thanks
