Happy reading. Also, once you become familiar with the nature and range of
pieces we publish, think about sharing your ideas/experiences in print by
submitting articles for possible publication. For those not familiar with
publishing in JMI, the editor's of the six sections use a double blind
reviewed process for choosing articles to publish. Initial submissions
normally take about three months to review. Virtually all papers usually
require a revision. From the time a paper is accepted, it takes 3-12
months to get in print. Normally, as Associate Editor-in-Chief, I follow a
first accepted, first in print policy, but sometimes I move articles up
because of their timeliness. For example, December's issue will include
two pieces on the Asian financial situation. The first, authored by Nicole
Woolsey Biggart, a well know sociologist at the University of
California-Davis, is titled, "Deep finance: The organizational bases of
South Korea's financial collapse." The second piece is authored by Gerado
Ungson, a well know professor of International Business at the University
of Oregon. It is titled, "When interpretations collide: The case of
Asia's financial crisis." Because of their timeliness, I moved both pieces
up in terms of publication date.
