A couple text recommendations: "The Female Advantage: Women's Ways of
Leadership" by Sally Helgesen; "Enlightened Leadership" by Ed Oakley and
Doug Krug. You might also want to consider incorporating use of the
Dimensions of Leadership Profile published by Carlson Learning Company.
This self-assessment instrument identifies what an individual tends to
focus on when in a leadership role and how the individual then expresses
leadership. The profile helps the person recognize her own leadership
biases and become aware of leadership options and when each is
appropriately applied. I recently had a short article describing the
leadership model upon which the profile is based appear in "Management
Forum" published by the International Management Council. I can fax you
a copy if you email me your fax number.

You may want to visit my web site listed below for a couple of interactive exercises on leadership. These exercises were informally validated in an entrepreneurial firm and computerized versions of them are now used as part of its leadership development program. The exercises on the site use a self-scoring version of the Survey of Leadership Practices. I also have a PowerPoint presentation that can be used with either exercise. If you are interest in the presentation, send me an e-mail directly and I will send it to you by return e-mail

    Dear Ruth,

I was very happy to read that you are putting together a leadership course
for college-aged women who are interested in entrepreneurial leadership.

I have developed several materials on the issues and would like to share
knowledge with you, if you are interested.

Eventually, I be delighted to come and teach should you find the need for it.

I will be glad to send you the brochure of our University, ISEMI which
stands for the "Israel School of Entrepreneurial Management and Innovation"
which will give you information about our activities in Israel.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    I remain,

    with kind regards,

    Dr. Liora Katzenstein
    President.
