I am attempting to identify international scholars who are known for their
leadership in the field of communication technology. The idea behind this
is two-fold. In an effort to contribute to the Digital Communications
Master's Program at East Carolina University, I would like to present their
major contributions to this field and attempt to contact them. I am hoping
to contact them, as to explore their interest about a possible meeting with
us in a virtual classroom setting. Any help would be most appreciated. If
you do not know of any names but have another outlet for me to locate such
people please let me know. If you would not like to post the information to
the list please email me at tessenearbh@coastalnet.com Thank you for your
time and consideration in this request.

    Sincerely,

    Brian Tessenear

    Have a look at

Professor Peter G W Keen who has written several important books on this
    topic
    (see http://frontpage.peterkeen.inter.net/peter.htm)

And Dr Daniel Chandler who is a prolific writer on aspects of communication
    technology (see http://www.aber.ac.uk/~dgc/home.html)
In particular I found his material on technological determinism very
    useful.

Brian recommended Peter Keen as a pre-eminent communications technology
scholar and supplied us with the url of Peter's website. Then, I went and
found a really great free video talk by Peter on "Thoughts on the Business
    Internet" at:
    http://frontpage.peterkeen.inter.net/emgbi.htm
I'm going to play it for my classes.
