  • 1.  Task and competency lists

    Posted 09-18-1998 12:42
I am seeking task inventory lists or competency lists that reflect the
    work performed
and/or competencies needed in jobs obtained by business school
    graduates.

I would also like to have correspondence with anyone who uses task or
    competency
surveys as applicant screening tools. I am interested in knowing your
    opinions of such
instruments, problems that you have experienced in using such
    instruments, the
methods you have used to score such instruments, and whether you can
    send me
    samples of such instruments.

I would also like to have correspondence with anyone with experience in
    using bogus
tasks or bogus competencies in such applicant screening tools with the
    intention of
finding individuals who are exaggerating their credentials. An example
    of a bogus
task would be I have worked with audio-controlled photocopy machines.
    An
example of a bogus competency is I am skilled in the area of Frank
    Zappa
    multivariate statistics.

Thank you for considering this request. This note is sent to 4 list
    servers. I extend my
apologies to those who receive multiple copies.
