dear members & Lars Moratis
This is the first time I am participating on this list. I am replying after
following the discussions on the MBA course design and the aspects to be
looked in to while designing the course. I specifically mentioned 'Lars
Moratis' name as the ideas seemed much closer to my thoughts.
In fact there was a situation where we reworked on our one year Diploma
Program to enable those who pass out to enter into our MBA program (both in
distance mode for experienced individuals). The organisation is running
several business schools and the curriculum is redesigned every year for
fresh graduates. This is one part of the game.
From my personal point of view: what about the soft side of development of
the student? Most of the course contents or designs concentrate only on the
curriculum, what about the methodology of delivery or rather pedagogy?
Keeping the global trends in mind and the impact of technological
advancements on the methods of functioning of businesses what is the time
frame in which a fresh graduate can be trained? If it is for an experienced
person what are the content requirements?
I think no institute can afford to keep itself struck in this turbulent
environment. Maybe we need to redesign our executive programs every quarter.
The major problem is what should be the local and global information ratios
to be given to the students?
The discussion is very interesting and some of the views are broadening our
thoughts. I thank the list owner and the members for their active
participation. I shall try to participate actively and share my views and
experiences.
Thanking you all for your time.
