> Dear Colleagues,
I used David Banner's book in my doctoral class right after it came out, and the students
loved it. I think it is one of the best books on org. theory and design around. I love
the way it explains traditional theory and then contrasts it with a new paradigm
perspective. Org. theory can be one of the dullest topics around if not handled
correctly, but Banner and Gagne do an exquisite job of making this topic interesting,
meaningful, and practical. At times it is even downright entertaining, all the while
holding to very high academic standards of research and conceptualization. I highly
recommend this book!
