I am teaching in an MBA program that uses intensive modules of 3-5 full
days for each course in the MBA curriculum (very similar to many
executive-education programs that run in many universities). This allows
us to work with visiting professors outside the country (which has
rather small supply of well-qualified business professors), who come for
short stays.
We are presently engaged in a self-evaluation of the program and I am
looking for some studies, references, or experience-based opinions on
how well such intensive-module program compares to more traditional
delivery methods (i.e., weekly lectures during a semester). I am
especially looking for some evidence/data about comparative
effectiveness of this method for students' learning experience and
quality.
Lots of thanks in advance,
Jacob Eisenberg, Ph.D.
