We decided to leave Prentice Hall and distribute the software and
manuals
directly via the Internet. The 5th edition contains four market
areas. Three are domestic (Merica 1, 2 and 3). The fourth may be
domestic
(Merica 4), Nystok, an Eastern European country, Pandau, a SouthEast
Asian
country or Sereno, a Latin American country selected at setup.
There are nine consumer segments in each market area with preferences
based
upon product quality and product features. Preferences change over time
within each area with the changes controlled by parameters. Market
research provides consumer preferences and other information.
Many parameters have been added to provide you with more control over
the
nature of the competition and to provide tailored stimuli to meet your
objectives. Parameters can also be used to simplify the simulation for
less advanced classes. The simulation runs on PCs and local networks
allowing you maximum control over the learning environment.
