    CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

    THE BRITISH ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

    MANAGING DIVERSITY 1-3rd September 1999 - MANCHESTER, ENGLAND

    Call for papers for the "Gender, Organisation and Management" track
    of the British Acadamy of Management annual conference. You are
    invited to submit abstracts for working papers, refereed papers and
    workshops for this topic. Papers which address one or more of the
    following fields are encouraged:

    Gender and organisational culture
    Diversity
    Work and family
    Networking and gender
    Gender and career development
    Mainstreaming gender equality
    Theorising gendered organisations and management
    Organisation and emotion
    Managing sexuality


    Instructions to Authors:

    All submissions (ie., refereed papers, working papers and workshop
    outlines) must be submitted by 26th February 1999 to:

    Three copies of all submissions must be sent in Microsoft Word V7.0
    or earlier versions, in 12 point Times Roman typeface. The file
    should also be sent on a disk, as an e-mail attachment, or entered
    via the Website http:/www.bam99.org.uk

    There is no word or page limit for refereed papers. Amendments will
    only be required following a recommendation from the reviewers.

    Those who wish to present working papers should send an abstract of
    no more than two sides of A4, between 300 and 500 words.

    Those interested and prepared to organise a workshop should send a
    brief outline of the focus and the names of likely speakers they
    might want to invite.

    In order to have papers included in the proceedings one author from
    each submission must register by 1st June 1999 and attend the
    conference. Papers are accepted on the condition that the manuscript
    has not been copyrighted, published, presented or accepted for
    presentation at any other professional meeting.

    A selection of the refereed papers from the conference will be
    published in a special edition of the BAM Journal. There is also a
    possibility that other submissions will be published through the
    wider academic network.
