Cross-posted by Charlie Wankel, Mg-Ed-Dv listmaster:

Jane Schmidt-Wilk [jschmidt@MUM.EDU] and Scott Herriott have just posted to
a sister list of Mg-Ed-Dv (AMINT-L) an invitation to join them in a
symposium (panel) proposal on distance management education for the Academy
of Management meeting in Chicago. As MED Division Chair-Elect, I urge all
interested to contact her immediately and leverage this opportunity. Also,
I invite other Mg-Ed-Dvers to use this list to locate co-presenters for
other topics. This is a wonderful use for this forum.

    >The deadline for submission of papers and symposia proposals for the August
    >1999 Chicago meeting of the Academy of Management is January 8th. It seems
    >close doesn't it. But YOU CAN MAKE IT! What you have to do is contact a
    >few other people in the know on your topic. Have each write out an abstract
    >of their panel presentation. You as "organizer" then staple them together
    >and write an integrating introduction. Presto-chango, you've got a
    >symposium submission for the Academy. Sent it off to more than one division
    >(e.g., International Management and MED). Check the call (it's url is
    >below) and target the divisions that fit with your research.
    > We in the Management Education and Development Division particularly
    >welcome symposium proposals. We are interested in what people are doing
    >with that new curriculum at your school, with that new teaching technology,
    >with globalizing, adding ethical dimensions, service learning, integrating
    >with other disciplines, internships, Internet applications, special issues
    >with management education in your country, issues in undergraduate
    >management education, issues in MBA programs, issues in doctoral level
    >management education, assessment issues, issues in mentoring newbie

    >Your experience and that of your colleagues is valuable. You know it--tell
    >us about. Submit a symposium proposal.
