    Several years ago, the journal "Industrial Relations" sent
    out a call for proposals for symposia on topics of interest
    to our readers. We again are issuing such a call. A
    symposium consists of several papers on a given
    subject area, to be coordinated by the individual
    making the proposal. That individual acts as the
    initial editor. Ultimately, however, the papers must
    pass through the standard review process. A proposal
    should contain a listing of the papers to be included,
    a brief statement of their individual contents and
    methodology, and the authors who will write them.

    If you have an interest in putting together such a
    symposium, please send your proposal to:

    Industrial Relations carries papers on labor markets, the
    employment relationship, general workplace issues,
    and public policy concerns related to employment. The
