  • 1.  Org studies in manufacturing management

Our university is increasing its activities in the field of manufacturing
management. As part of this, a new subject called org studies in
manufacturing management will be included in the BMgt (Operations Mgt) degree.

Among the topics to be covered would be the management of innovation,
management and organisation of workforces with high levels of technological
skill and education, impact of the very high flexibility now required in
manufacturing. I am now responsible for this program and would welcome
suggestions for other topics to include, points where organisation studies
in manufacturing management are distinct (or not) from OB and OD in
general, and any thoughts about texts.

The University of South Australia is centred in Adelaide, the capital of
the state of South Australia. The state has a significant manufacturing
base in auto, defense, food & wine.

Thanks for any help you can provide

    Hello Howard:

Australia is one of the countries with a moderate level of immigrants and
international workforce. One of the suggestion is to cover a topic in
    Cultural Differences in the Workplace.

I am originally from Russia and residing in the USA for the last eight
years. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Organizational
Dynamics Program. Most of my research at Penn and publication was done on
    the cultural
differences in conducting a business. If you are intersted in this
    subject,
    please let me know >

    Sincerely,

    Val Mikhailovski
