THE FOURTH ANNUAL LEADERSHIP TEACHING CONFERENCE
Saturday, March 27, 1999 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana
Educating the Leaders of Tomorrow
The Theme of 1999 Leadership Teaching Conference is Educating the Leaders of
Tomorrow. Many have chosen a teaching or training career with the desire to
make a difference for our future. You are invited to share those
experiences and successes on how you are teaching/training leadership for
tomorrow's challenges.
The objective of the Leadership Teaching Conference is to present sessions
that will result in participants becoming better trainers and educators.
Proposals are encouraged for workshop sessions of varying length (30, 45, or
60 minutes) and may address both novice and experienced educators. Each
participant and attendee will be able to leave the conference with new ideas
and concepts to try in the workplace or classroom. Preference will be given
to proposals in keeping with the conference theme: "Educating the Leaders
of Tomorrow" and that demonstrate/or model interactive and innovative
teaching methods. Presenters should not read their papers. Some sample
areas for proposals include:
* Exercises, games, simulations, technology in education/training
* General educational issues in leadership
* New approaches to learning
* Course and class design
* Professional development for faculty, managers and consultants
The proposals for sessions will be reviewed and evaluated based on the theme
fit for the one-day conference. A proposal submission is composed of two
parts, a description of the presentation and a cover sheet.
The description should clearly state the purpose of the session, a
description of the activities, and an approximate timetable. Include a
statement of how the proposed activities serve to fulfill the stated
purpose. This document should be double-spaced and submitted in triplicate.
Please provide two self-addressed stamped envelopes. (Do not include the
presenter's name(s) on the description pages.)
The cover sheet should include the following information:
Title - a short title that accurately describes the content and
focus of the presentation.
Abstract - a clear 50 - 100 word description of the
presentation for the conference program if your proposal is accepted.
Please emphasize what you will do and how you will do it.
Presenter Identification - list the names, titles/positions,
organizational affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail
addresses of all presenters. Please specify which presenter is to be
contacted regarding reviewer questions or results.
Audience - describe the composition of the audience for whom
the presentation would be most appropriate.
Time Requirements - indicate the optimal length of the session (30,
45, or 60 minutes).
Facility Requirements - indicate the equipment you will
need, the type of furniture required, and the maximum number of participants
your session can accommodate.

excellent people and inform them of our conference. In addition to learning
