Diane Parente asked about International Management Development
'experiential' excercises, I am currently in Manila this week working on
that exact topic for our Asia Region, and I would love to hear the groups
ideas as well.. A couple of ideas- there are a couple of business board
games (some computer assisted simulations)that teach the international
finance and operations integration coupled with a bit of currency exchange
or political disruption scenarios, or that allow you to build those in.
Another although not as detailed is find a way to help Americans be
culturally sensitive without giving up on the initiative or innovation ideas
for the emerging country. For example have them do 'both ... and'
brainstorming versus 'either ... or' thinking but in this one you must
satisfy both the cultural and corporate needs, that is tough, but it works
and some creative ideas come out.

    Hi--
I saw the game I think you are referring to at a conference in Atlanta
last year. If you can find the Gaming and Simulation group--NASAGA is
what I think it is called--they have a web site and can likely point you
to the maker/seller of the game. It was quite complex and pretty
expensive, but had some real value in my opinion. Combines traditional
process stuff with the twist of doing business internationally.

    Good Luck--
