I have made an analysis of different modes of learning in terms of interaction
and one-way components. Interaction vs one-way (talking head) may be a better
vehicle for discussion than campus vs internet. While we all use a mix of
interactive and one-way elements, the new technology (Internet, Learning Space
server) provides an opportunity to revise the mix to for better cost-benefits
and to differentiate our school’s advantages with respect to email-order
programs. This brief table can be found on my website:

(It is my view that educators add value when interaction is high and that
one-way information flow is essentially self-learning, so just send the
students to the library or web.)

Slight technical hitch (OK, operator error). Apologies if you receive this
    twice.

    Still a great thread.
Any thoughts on the loss of the socialising process? Students mature
immensely during their college/university years - largely due to social
interaction with their peers, but also through the discipline of conforming
to the institutional rules and regulations (though this can have a positive
    or negative effect).
Will Cyberia lead to an increase in socially inadequate people as they
haven't had the opportunity to develop social skills in the 'real' world?
