Dutch Driver's post about Jack Lowe Sr. and Jr., and the concept of Servant
Leadership is quite interesting. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure
of spending two days with Lew Platt of HP. Lew told me that HP sought to
be the "employer of choice" in Silicon Valley. Clearly, wherever human
capital is the key to competitive success, an organization's ability to
attrack and hold on to good employees must be a fundamental concern of all
managers. Members of this web do not need to be reminded of this, but it
is nice to know that many CEOs also recognize this, and act in ways that
reaffirm that "people, not technology, not financial captial, not current
product offerings or market share, are ultimately the most important
competitive advantage."
