And, can we ignore the context in which these self-ratings are
used...independent of what is being rated against (objective criteria,
others, history)?
If my rating of myself is combined equally with my boss's assessment of
me and then used to determine pay, I would think that there'd be a bias
toward higher self-rating, then if the ratings are only used for laying
out a development plan.
