New: A framework for evaluating the effectiveness of technology-assisted
    learning (HTML | PDF)
    James A. Athanasou

The purpose of this paper is to provide a basis for the evaluation of
educational and training programs in commerce and industry. Official
statistics highlight the lack of training evaluations and point to a need
for critical appraisal of training efforts. Evaluation is presented as a
systematic process for investigating the merit and worth of education and
training. A holistic approach that synthesises six key factors is outlined,
with examples from technology-assisted learning, management and staff
training. This hexagonal evaluation model comprises: ethics, costs,
    coverage, objectives, effects and stakeholders.

New: COPYRIGHT FOR THE EDUCATED IN THE DIGITAL MILLENIUM (HTML | PDF)
    Robert N. Diotalevi

This paper examines copyright and how it relates to educators, students and
institutions. With the explosion of digital technology and the Internet in
particular, copyright violations seem to be beyond policing. There are many
misconceptions and lack of understanding in this area and authors seem
powerless to defend their work. The paper looks at the US Congress and its
work on The Digital Millenium Copyright Act and how this will impact on
educators. Registration may provide solutions to copyright dilemmas.
