Does anyone know of any on-line sources of basic inforamtion about
management development, e.g., review of standard management skills and
functions, basic training/development terms, types of assessments to
discern training/development needs, various management development
processes, continuing professional development for managers, etc? I
realize that I'm asking for a great deal of information, but I'm
surprised there isn't more on the net now.
I've searched the net off and on for several days. There is an explosion
of information about leadership skills needed in today's organizations
(often this information is in the form of highly abstract, reflective
essays). There is some basic management theory information, but not much
(i.e., on basic roles/functions of management, history, vertical and
horizontal types, and basic skills). There is also a great deal of
training and development information geared for training and development
practitioners, and a small portion of this might be useful to
supervisors.
Any consolidated, basic sources of info out there? Thanks in advance for
any suggestions!
