In today's (Dec. 31, 2000) New York Times
www.nytimes.com there is a very
interesting article:
Business Book Turns a Page With New Form--by MARY B. W. TABOR
http://www.nytimes.com/2000/12/31/technology/31BOOK.html?pagewanted=all
Excerpts:
...the form of the business book is being tested by "Now, Discover Your
Strengths," by Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton of the Gallup
Organization, which makes participating online an integral part of reading
the book.
Here's how it works: After an introduction, the reader uses an
identification code from the book to log onto a Gallup Web site. There the
reader clicks his or her way through a 180-question personality test called
the "StrengthsFinder."
At the end, the reader's five dominant strength "themes" appear. The reader
then returns to the book for information on putting those themes to work.
"Our book capitalizes on the strengths of each medium," he said. "The book
part gives you the generic, in-depth information you need. And the Internet
component gives you immediate, sophisticated feedback."
