Conference Theme: Elevating Aspirations
obts.org
We are delighted to welcome your submissions for the first international OBTC Teaching Conference for Management Educators at the University of Winchester in England. We hope participants from around the globe will enjoy the combined heritage of OBTC's innovative and imaginative learning space, with Winchester's history as the ancient capital of England, and home to one of the largest medieval churches in the world.
This year's theme is Elevating Aspirations, which is an invitation to share and celebrate the many ways in which we encourage, inspire, motivate and lift ourselves, and our students, to embrace the joys and challenges of management education in the twenty first century. Our shared personal and collective passion for learning and teaching is the cornerstone of transformative education that unites and energises us, regardless of time or location.
We welcome a wide variety of submissions around the following three themes:
- Elevating aspirations in the classroom: which could include how you
- Encourage students to develop curiosity, embrace and model learning challenges, value your own, and your students, lived experiences
- Elevating aspirations in the wider student experience: which could include how you and your institution
- Engage students with the broader local and global community, putting their energy into action to inform and deepen their learning.
- Involve more academic staff in wider student engagement
- Develop institutional support for wider community partnerships
- Elevating aspirations for global citizenship: which could include how you
- Encourage diverse opportunities that challenge assumptions and broaden understanding of global citizenship
The University of Winchester, located in southern England, is an hour from Heathrow and less than half an hour from Southampton regional airport. It embodies a strong history and commitment to excellence in learning and teaching though its values, programmes and community engagement. You will find it offers a welcoming space for us to celebrate and connect as people and professionals.
Sessions can be 20, 30 or 60 minutes long. We will follow OBTC's 43 year history of highly interactive and experiential conference format, and encourage submissions that allow maximum participation and interaction. All submissions are blind reviewed. Conference registration will open up on Monday, January 18th, 2016 with additional information about the conference available soon at OBTS.org.
We hope you will join our international celebration of teaching excellence at Winchester in 2016.
