BRIEF DESCRIPTION: How can we change the world we work in to be a place of
harmony, kindness and fun? What better way to boost morale, productivity and
attendance than through quantum thinking? In this seminar you will
experience the positive effects of humor, optimism and creativity. You will
take back empirical evidence to show how important they are and have new
tools and strategies for implementing them into your life.
OBJECTIVES:
Describe the importance of optimism for health and wellness
Employ methods of looking at things creatively
Examine Bio-psychosocial-spiritual aspects of Humor
Design techniques for bringing more creativity and kindness into the
workplace
FACULTY: Naj Wikoff and Lynn Durham
Lynn Durham, RN, is a former nursing instructor and joyful spirit. She has
studied at the Harvard Deaconess Mind Body Medical Institute and now writes
a monthly column, has released an audio book called Dancing Gracefully with
Life and is a professional speaker and well being coach, changing the way
people see their world. Lynn is a member of the National Wellness
Association, National Association of Self Esteem, the Humor and Health
Institute and the National Speakers Association. Corporate audiences,
associations, schools and individuals have gained the insights to choose the
best strategies and tools to improve the quality of their personal and
professional lives. Lynn is a creative antidote to the challenges of day to
day business.
Naj Wikoff is the Director of the Healing and the Arts Project of the C.
Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth College. Previously he was the Director
of Programming of the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth, Director of Arts &
Productions for the Cathedral St. John the Divine in NYC, Coordinator of the
Arts for the Global Forum of Parliamentary and Spiritual Leaders, and
Vice-Chairman of the National Fine Arts Committee for the XIII Winter
Olympics in Lake Placid.
He is a sculptor, storyteller, and celebration artist known for organizing a
wide range of festivals and other celebratory events that use humor and the
arts to uplift the human spirit. At the Koop Institute Mr. Wikoff develops
arts and humanities programs in the hospital and medical school for the
purpose of supporting the process of healing, improving doctor-patient
relations, communicating health care messages, and helping health care
workers thrive in an increasingly stressful environment
