  • 1.  REQUEST for SYLLABI integrating SPIRITUALITY

About three years ago, Sandra King and Jerry Biberman asked teachers or
business courses to send us syllabi from courses that they were teaching in
which they were integrating spirituality and work in the classroom. We have
shared those syllabi with others. Since that time, we are sure
that many others have begun to integrate the topic of spirituality and work
in the classroom. If you - or someone you know - are currently teaching a
course that involves spirituality and work (either in one portion of the
course or the whole course), we would appreciate your sending us a copy of
your syllabus. We will again review the syllabi we receive, and will share
the Information with everyone. In addition, if they are not explicitly
    listed in the syllabus, we
would be interested in knowing any specific exercises or material that you
have found helpful in the process of teaching the material. If you have any
helpful hints or advice that might help others, we would appreciate hearing
about them. We hope to put together a paper or booklet that
might help all of us in the process of teaching this new material.

Please send the material through attached file to sandraking@mindspring.com
    or mail to

Thank you for your help in advance,

    Dear Colleagues,

Those interested in introducing the topic of Spirituality in the classroom,
are encouraged to read Andre Delbecq's article reporting on a Pilot course
for MBAs and CEOs on Spirituality for Business Leadership. The article
appears in the June 2000 issue of Journal of Management Inquiry. Peter
Vaill writes an introduction and two students write commentaries on their
    experience.

For those interested in studying the topic empirically, Donde Ashmos and
Dennis Duchon report on their work on the conceptualization and measurement
    of Spirituality at work.

    Regards, Kim Boal
